MABAS Drill - Cherry Valley FPD November 9, 2016
On November 10 & 11, 2106, the MABAS-Illinois Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Team, IL-TF 1, conducted an mobilization exercise (MOBEX) at the Cherry Valley Fire Protection District’s training site. For this training, IL-TF 1 was deployed to the simulated parking garage/building collapse following a man-made event. IL-TF 1 encountered multiple victims that needed to be extricated and medically treated. Search and rescue techniques were performed which including the use of live find canine teams to locate victims. A radiological source was staged in the simulated collapsed building that needed to be addressed.
