Pingree Grove MVA - 2 Helos - Nov. 21, 2011
2 vehicles collided this afternoon on Rt. 72 just east of Reinking Rd. One car was passing a semi in the oncoming lane WB route 72 and didn't make it around the semi in time, hitting another car head-on. 6 people total were injured and two of them were transported by helicopter, with another transported by helicopter after they arrived at the hospital. It took firefighters from 5 departments about 30 minutes to extricate all of the people and had to cut the roof completely off the Lincoln Town Car, to get to the driver and passengers.. Some were transported by ambulance to local hospitals. The driver of the truck the Lincoln was passing was in disbelief of what'd just happened in front of him. He told me when seeing the vehicle in his mirror passing, and then seeing the other car converge, that before he could even process what was happening, they had collided.
