Yesterday's fire in the 10 story Franklin Park Towers apparently started in the kitchen of a 2nd floor unit. One of FPPD's trucks was literally 200' away from the building when the call came in and was on the scene and attacking the fire within minutes. 30-40 residents who are elderly or disabled had to be evacuated and then assisted back into the building once it was clear that their was no more danger.
