Peck Farm Butterfly Farm : This is a fantastic place to check your camera skills out and an even better place to take the little ones. About 15 minutes from Elgin, whenever I have a hour or so I want to get away, this is where I head. At any given time in the summer, they'll have as many as 13 different types of butterflies and moths in an indoor garden that are just waiting to ham it up for you and your kids. If you've never been here, check it out. Elgin would definitely benefit by something similar to this in one of their parks.
